Setting up the circle
- Everyone must sit cross-legged in a full circle on the ground
- One goose is selected by a volunteer, drawing straws, or any other method. The games are quick so it doesn’t really matter who is selected first. The goose stands outside of the circle.
Objective
The objective of the game “Duck Duck Goose” is for “the goose” walk around the other players sitting in a circle, tapping each player on the head and saying “duck” until they choose one player that must get up and chase them. The chosen player must then try to catch the goose before they can make it around the circle and sit back down in their empty spot.
Gameplay
As stated above, gameplay starts by the goose walking around the ducks sitting in a circle. The goose needs to say “duck” out loud for every player they tap until they make their “goose” selection.
Once they yell “goose”, the tagged person must get up from the ground and chase the person who is “it”.
If they are able to tag them, the tagger remains the goose. If they can’t tag the “it” person, they then become the new goose.
You can play for however many rounds as you’d like!
